Alaska Native corporations reject pipeline project

Twelve Alaska Native regional corporations have dropped their participation in a natural gas pipeline investment company.

Pacific Star Energy was formed to allow Alaskans to buy into the pipeline. The corporations were considering making an investment in Pacific Star.

But now that the pipeline itself seems far off, the corporations withdrew. But they may form their own investment group in the future.

The pipeline would bring gas from the North Slope to the lower 48.
