Montana school won't take blame for boys' deaths

A public school district on the Flathead Reservation in Montana plans to fight a lawsuit brought the parents of two Indian boys who died of alcohol-related causes.

Justin Benoist and Frankie Nicolai III, both 11, skipped school on February 27. They were found dead in a field three days later, both with extremely high blood alcohol levels.

The families say the district failed to protect the boys and didn't have enough Indian staff trained to deal with alcohol problems on the reservation. They are seeking $4 million in damages.
