The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has paid $7.1 million for six properties but hasn't decided what to do with the land.
The tribe has been in negotiations with the landowners for several years. The properties are located near the entrance to the casino.
The tribe currently has about 32 acres in trust, a large portion of which is occupied by the casino-hotel complex. A spokesperson said a decision hasn't been made on whether to have the new properties placed in trust.
