Navajo Nation to consider aircraft parts plant

The Navajo Nation could be the host of a new aircraft parts plant that will generate hundreds of jobs.

Utilicraft Aerospace Industries Inc. of Georgia has been negotiating with tribal leaders about using Navajo land in northwestern New Mexico. The proposed deal calls for the tribe to invest $34 million in the company to become a 25 percent owner.

Navajo President Joe Shirley Jr. said the council is likely to take up the agreement by the end of January.
