The third annual State of Indian Nations Address will be delivered on February 3 by Tex Hall, President of the National Congress of American Indians.

According to NCAI, the address will focus on promoting strong tribal self-governance and developing healthy economies for tribal communities. Referring to the recent Harvard University study that tied self-rule to positive economic and social progress, Hall said "there are still huge strides to make in order to bridge the socioeconomic gap with mainstream America. With the proper tools and resources, we can truly raise the standard of living for our tribal nations."

The speech is timed before the release of the federal budget. Hall has previously lobbied for additional funding for Indian programs.

The address will take place at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
