Mashantucket Tribe, town in talks to end water feud

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut and a nearby town are near an agreement over who has the right to provide water.

The tribe sought permission to control water rights for a new golf course. But the town of North Stonington objected, leading to a two-year battle.

The feud is near an end as both sides resumed talks. The deal would allow the tribe to supply water while addressing the town's health and safety concerns, The New London Day reported.
