Fire destroys Mashantucket Pequot artifacts

A fire that destroyed an historic barn in Connecticut also destroyed about 40 priceless Mashantucket Pequot baskets from the 1800s.

Anna Palmer Coit, 97, owned the barn and the collection of baskets. They had been in her family for hundreds of years.

The baskets had just recently been photographed and were about to be catalogued for the Mashantucket Pequot Museum.
