Coushatta Tribe sues Abramoff, Scanlon in state court

A federal magistrate on Thursday refused to move a lawsuit the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana filed against disgraced Washington lobbyists Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon.

The tribe filed a suit against their former lobbyists in state court. The tribe claims $32 million paid to Abramoff, Scanlon and the Greenberg Traurig firm was misappropriated.

Attorneys for the lobbyists then tried to move the case to federal court but the motion was rejected, The Lake Charles American Press reported.
