San Manuel Band makes deal for third hotel project

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has made a deal for a third hotel project, this time on its reservation in California.

The tribe will build a 110-room Hampton Inn & Suites at a new village being planned on the reservation. Construction could begin next year in hopes of opening by mid-year 2007.

The tribe has already opened a Marriott Residence Inn in Washington, D.C., in partnership with three other tribes. The tribe also signed a deal with Marriott for a hotel in downtown Sacramento in partnership with two other tribes.
