A New York that received land stolen from the Oneida Nation claims the tribe owes $2.3 million in property taxes.

Madison County is moving to foreclose on 100 properties owned by the tribe. A motion was filed in state Supreme Court seeking the unpaid taxes.

The county is a defendant in the Oneida Nation land claim. But county officials say they have the right to seek taxes from the tribe due to the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision.
