Santee Sioux students start their own business

Students on the Santee Sioux Reservation in Nebraska have started their own business, selling Indian-made products to other schools, tribes and even on eBay.

Warriorz.Biz is an ongoing project at the Santee Community School. It started in 2001 as a way to create jobs on a reservation with 70 percent unemployment and to stir entrepreneurship among students.

The program has been successful, with students selling items they make themselves at the school. Their top seller is drums but they also offer a variety of crafts and embroidery.
