One man was found guilty while three others were acquitted on Thursday in an attempted murder linked to a Native gang in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Owen Bitternose, 27, was sentenced to five years in prison for shooting Garnet Ponace, 30, in the back. But three associates were cleared of all charges.

Bitternose and the others are said to have ties to the Native Syndicate, a street gang. Bitternose's older brother has been charged with a gang-related murder.
