Navajo Marine killed while serving in Afghanistan


A member of the Navajo Nation was killed while fighting the war in Afghanistan.

U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Kevin Joyce, 19, had been listed as missing in action since June 25. His remains were found and identified on July 8.

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. ordered all flags on the reservation be flown at half-mast in memory of Joyce and Lyle Cambridge, 23, who was killed this week in Iraq.

A total of four Navajo soldiers have died while serving in Iraq.
