The Senate Indian Affairs Committee held an oversight hearing today on "Lands eligible for gaming pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act."

Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), the chairman of the committee, has promised a series of hearings on issues affecting the $19 billion Indian gaming industry. He has raised a number of concerns about the regulation of tribal casinos and off-reservation casino proposals.
