Law
DOI investigating Nevada tribe's longtime lawyer

The Interior Department is among several entities investigating a longtime lawyer for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe who apparently hasn't had an active license to practice law since 1993.

Robert Bob Pelcyger has represented the tribe for 30 years on water rights and other issues in Nevada. But he hasn't had an active license in the state, and may have never applied for one, The Reno Gazette-Journal reported. The tribe's case has been argued in state and federal court.

Pelcyger [Bio] also took two cases to the Supreme Court on behalf of the Crow Tribe of Montana. One case was argued before 1993 while the second was argued after 1993. He has represented numerous other tribal clients, including the Northern Arapaho Tribe, the Tohono Oodham Nation and the Fort Mojave Tribe.
