Oldest Indian mummy discovered in Peru

A 1,300-year-old mummy of a man -- the oldest ever -- has been uncovered in Lima, Peru.

Isabel Flores, the director of the Huaca Pucllana museum, said the man was a high-ranking member of the Huari Tribe. The Huaris preceded the Incas as the dominant culture in Peru between 600 and 1000 AD.

Flores said the man's head was removed, most likely after his death by a rival tribe.
