Couple found guilty of reservation fire death

A couple from the Fort Belknap Reservation was convicted of murdering a 15-year-old girl who died after her home was set on fire.

Kenneth Arcand, 20, and his common-law wife, Bobbi Jo Wing, 25, were found guilty of first degree murder in the death of Angel Denny. Arcand and Wing told prosecutors that they set fire to the house while Denny was inside sleeping.

Denny died of smoke inhalation as a result of the April 9, 2005, fire. She was six days away from her 16th birthday.

Arcand and Wing, who were living in the house at the time, face a mandatory life sentence.
