Police officers circulate racist 'rap' about Natives

Several police units across Canada are investigating a racist "rap" song about Natives that was distributed via e-mail by a police officer.

It is not known where the song originated. But CBC News traced it to a police officer in Ontario who forwarded it to nearly two dozen people. From there, it came to the attention of Native police officers, one of whom made a complaint.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Peel Regional Police in Ontario are investigating. The RCMP says disciplinary action is possible.

A portion of the song is included in the CBC broadcast linked below. It contains explicit lyrics about a "drunk" Native.
