HUD expands Indian housing loans off-reservation

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is expanding the Section 184 Indian home loan program to areas off the reservation.

Arizona became the third state approved for off-reservation loan guarantees. Florida and Wisconsin have already qualified under a program where tribes can show that its members have lived throughout the state.

More than $300 million in Section 184 guarantees will be available this year, according to HUD.
