Tulalip Tribes to celebrate opening of outlet mall

The Tulalip Tribes of Washington will mark the grand opening of an outlet mall on the reservation tomorrow.

The Seattle Premium Outlets features 100 prominent outlet stores. Located at the tribe's Quil Ceda Village, the 500,000-square-foot mall created 500 new jobs and will boost state sales taxes by an estimated $17 million a year.

The outlet is just part of the growth at Quil Ceda, which already boasts a Wal-Mart and Home Depot in addition to the tribal casino. An arts and entertainment complex will open in July and a hotel is on the way.
