Man pleads guilty for murder on Hoh Reservation


A 24-year-old man faces life in prison for pleading guilty to murdering a woman on the Hoh Reservation in Washington.

Michael W. Koch, a member of the Cowlitz Tribe, admitted strangling Tawnya LaVonne Tom, 18, a member of the Hoh Tribe, to death in December 2003. He placed her body in a box and dumped it in a secluded area of the reservation.

Koch will be sentenced August 12.
