Cocopah Tribe won't recognize 'Patriots' group

The Cocopah Tribe of Arizona says it won't recognize a local border watch group that claims to be stopping illegal immigrants from entering the U.S.

The tribe says Flash Sharrar and his all-volunteer Yuma Patriots aren't welcome on the reservation. The tribe "has no desire to work with, facilitate or otherwise further his group's stated cause on the Cocopah Reservation," The Yuma Sun reported.

After being told to stay away, the Patriots claimed they patrolled the reservation without incident over the weekend but the tribe says Sharrar must have been "confused" because the group never came onto tribal land.
