Identities of Navajo homicide victims confirmed

The identities of the victims in a triple homicide on the Navajo Nation have been confirmed. All are three young Navajos.

Bobby Wayne Fulton, 20, and Lars Yazzie, 18, were killed in the early Monday morning incident. The third victim was Vickie Benally, 26, whose identity was previously disclosed.

George Hardeen, the communications director for Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr., said the deaths have had a major impact on the Navajo Nation. He said the shooting, which occurred near the chapter house in Hogback, New Mexico, was "brazen and bold," The Farmington Daily Times reported.

Authorities are casting a wide net as part of their investigation. They haven't identified any suspects or a motive in the killings, described as "execution style" because all the victims were shot at a close range. Two bodies were found in a vehicle near the chapter house while the third was found outside the vehicle.
