Man guilty for death of Washoe tribal member

A Nevada man was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and battery for the beating death of a member of the Washoe Tribe.

Michael Ward, 21, was convicted after five hours of deliberations. He participated in the beating of Jeffrey John, 24, on June 24, 2005, during a confrontation at a house party.

Another man, Enrique Garcia, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in jail for covering up evidence. He was the host of the party and admitted to washing his clothes and taking a shower to hide any traces of blood from the fight.
