Monacan Tribe to rebury skull listed on eBay

The Monacan Tribe of Virginia plans to rebury a skull that was put on sale on the auction site eBay.

New York City chiropractor Steven Mendola found the 300-year-old skull in a closet of an office. He listed it on eBay and received bids up to $152.50.

A television reporter noticed the auction and alerted eBay, which suspended the auction. Mendola then agreed to turn it over to the Monacan Tribe after talking with Chief Kenneth Branham.

Federal law prohibits the sale of Indian remains.
