Navajo police in Shiprock strained by violence


Navajo Nation police in Shiprock, New Mexico, are dealing with an increase in alcohol, drug and gang-related violence.

In recent months, there have been three stabbing deaths and a triple homicide. Police say they are having a hard time dealing with the crime.

The Shiprock police department covers a large area and includes 20 chapters. On average, only four officers are on duty for each shift.
