Wyoming governor criticizes budget cuts for tribes

Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal (D) criticized the federal government for not living up to its obligations to the Eastern Shoshone Tribe and the Northern Arapaho Tribe.

Freudenthal spoke to Arapaho leaders on the Wind River Reservation. 'At the federal level, everything is getting cut," he said, according to the Associated Press.

Freudenthal said he would respect tribal sovereignty in regard to child welfare. He said he may create a task force to study the issue.
