Kickapoo women face trial for tribal takeover

Four elderly Kickapoo women face a trial in tribal court for the takeover of an administration building.

The women occupied the office for two weeks in December 2004. They were protesting chairman Tony Salazar, whom they accused of mishandling the tribe's finances.

Auchee Wahpepah, Juanita Prado, Glenda Deer and Valentina Jimenez are charged with trespass and burglary. Another woman involved, Zelma Garza, died in May 2005.
