Man claims to have killed 412lb buck on reservation

An Arkansas man has stirred Internet buzz about a 412-lb pound buck that he says he killed on a Nebraska reservation.

Stan Whitt. an archer, won't identify the reservation because he says he is worried hunters will overwhelm the tribe. In one of the photos he took of the buck, he is seen with two unidentified men who appear to be Native American [Web Page].

Whitt says he is upset that people think his kill is a hoax. Internet message boards have been speculating about the validity of Whitt's claim and the location of the reservation. Some say it is the Santee Sioux Reservation.

Minneapolis Star Tribune outdoors columnist Dennis Anderson tried to verify the claim but couldn't get answers from the tribe he contacted.
