Jicarilla Apache Nation celebrates 119 years

The Jicarilla Apache Nation celebrated the 119th anniversary of the creation of the tribe's reservation in northern New Mexico.

The tribe held its annual Jicarilla Day Powwow over the weekend. The event commemorates the February 11, 1887, executive order, signed by then-President Grover Cleveland, that created the reservation near the Colorado border.

More than 200 dancers, as well as two drum groups, attended the powwow.
