Cover-up alleged over latest suicide at BIA school

Students and parents at Navajo Prep, a Bureau of Indian Affairs school, are raising concerns about a cover-up of student suicides.

A 16-year-old female student was found dead at the school on Monday. It was the second student suicide in recent months, causing students and parents to worry that school officials are trying to downplay the incidents.

One parent said school officials held a meeting "about getting their stories straight" for police and the media, The Gallup Independent reported. When students raised concerns, they were "yelled at and told to be quiet" the parent told the paper.
