An educator and curator at Sherman Indian School is being recognized for her efforts to preserve tribal culture and heritage.
Lorene Sisquoc is a member of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe and is part Cahuilla. She is a culture traditions leader and museum curator at the school.
For May, she designed the Arts Honoree of the Month by the Riverside Arts Council and the city of Riverside. "A lot of times, Native Americans get overlooked," she told The Riverside Press-Enterprise.
