The Oglala Sioux Tribe and an orthodox Jewish family from New York City have teamed up to open a kosher packing plant.
The tribe and the Rubashkin family have been working together for about a year. They held a grand opening for their plant in Gordon, Nebraska, on Thursday.
The tribe declared the plant as part of its economic empowerment zone. The company will receive tax credits for each tribal and non-tribal member employee.
