Navajo Nation presidential candidates attend forum

About 1,000 people attended a forum on Tuesday night to hear from and ask questions of the Navajo Nation presidential candidates.

Nearly a dozen people are seeking the job. Jon C. Reeves announced he was ending his campaign and was endorsing incumbent President Joe Shirley Jr.

According to the Associated Press, attendees criticized Shirley and Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. for failing to make good on their campaign promises. Each is running separately this year.

The primary is being held next week. The top two vote-getters will compete in the general election in November.
