Chippewa Cree Tribe near deal on ethanol plant


The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana is near a deal to secure financing of a $100 million ethanol plant, The Great Falls Tribune reports.

The tribe has won $20 million in tax credits through the U.S. Treasury Department. Now the tribe hopes to line up an international investor for the project.

Construction on the facility could begin in spring 2007. The plant would provide bout 200 construction jobs and another 43 permanent jobs.
