Peguis First Nation to vote on treaty settlement

Members of the Peguis First Nation have until today to vote on what is being called the largest treaty land settlement in Manitoba history.

The deal would put $64 million in a community trust fund. Tribal leaders hope to use the money to buy and develop land in the Winnipeg area. The government is also promising 55,000 acres.

The Peguis First Nation is the largest in Manitoba. Its members are Ojibwe and Cree.
