Navajo Nation communities are still dealing with the effects of major flooding on the reservation.

Michelle Hood and her family fled their home in the Church Rock, New Mexico, area last week. They returned to find it totally destroyed.

Robinson Kelly, the vice president of the Church Rock Chapter, said Hood's home is beyond repair. "This is the worse I've seen, in this year," Kelly told The Gallup Independent.

The chapter has distributed 400 cases of water, Kelly said. Many local residents lost water during the height of the storms.

Laguna Pueblo in western New Mexico and the Hopi Tribe in northeastern Arizona also suffered during the recent summer storms.
