Mashantucket Pequot Museum seeks higher level

The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center will be going to a "higher level," incoming executive director Kimberly Hatcher-White tells The Norwich Bulletin.

Hatcher-White is taking over at the end of the month. She replaces Theresa Bell, a tribal member who resigned after being with the museum since it opened.

Along with the leadership change, the museum is now an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. The museum will be able to host traveling Smithsonian exhibits, including the "Booming Out: Mohawk Iron Workers Build New York City," which opens in January 2007.

The museum is located on the reservation near the tribal casino.
