Native remains found in mass grave in Utah

The remains of eight Native men were found in a mass grave in Nephi, Utah.

The men were piled up in a small grave. They had been shot and killed as part of the 1853 Walker War between tribes and non-Indian settlers.

One account suggests the men were attacked by settlers. Another says they were killed by soldiers.

The homeowner who discovered the remains wants them reburied. Forrest Cuch, the executive director of the state Division of Indian Affairs, said they should be repatriated.
