About 100 members of the Yakama Nation protested on Wednesday against the tribe's decision to enter into a tax agreement with the state of Washington.

Tribal members said their leaders were wrong to accept a deal that imposes, for the first time, some fuel taxes. They said the agreement violates their treaty rights.

Some tribal leaders agree with the complaints. But another tribal official say taxes imposed on fuel and cigarettes are retained by the tribe and are used to provide services.
