McKosato returns as host of Native America Calling

Audio (MP3): First Half - 5.2MB | Second Half - 6.3MB

Harlan McKosato is returning to Studio 49 as the host of the nationally broadcast radio show Native America Calling.

McKosato, a member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma, left the show after an alcohol and domestic violence arrest in November 2003. He apologized to listeners and the family before he embarked on some new media ventures.

Three years later, McKosato returns today for a "listener suggestions" program and callers are being encouraged to offer welcome messages for the "new/old" host. Patty Talahongva, a member of the Hopi Tribe, had served as host for most of the period McKosato was gone.

The show, produced at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, airs Monday through Friday at 1PM Eastern Standard Time.
