Abramoff Scandal
Poll shows Ralph Reed lost support after Abramoff

Ralph Reed, the conservative Christian activist who is running for lieutenant governor of Georgia, leads his Republican opponent in a new poll but the number show he lost support among GOP voters in the wake of the Jack Abramoff scandal.

Reed's lead over state Sen. Casey Cagle, who has made Abramoff a campaign issue, has dwindled to 7 percentage points, according to the a survey of likely Republican voters. Before the scandal broke, Reed was leading by 14 percentage points.

But the poll also shows GOP voters haven't made up their minds. A whopping 59 percent said they were undecided.

Reed was hired by Abramoff to oppose tribes in Texas and in Alabama. He was paid using gaming revenues from other tribes.
