Arrests made in slaughter of bald eagles in Canada

A 15-month investigation into the slaughter of dozens of bald eagles has led to arrests and charges against 11 men in British Columbia.

Some of the men are from the Burrard First Nation, where some of the eagles were found killed and mutilated. Other dead eagles were found on the Squamish First Nation and on land near the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation.

At least 50 carcasses have been found in what authorities suspect was a contraband eagle feather ring.
