Members of the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe and other Western Shoshone tribes held a protest against the Pentagon's plan to blow up more than 700 tons of explosives at the Nevada Test Site.

The Duckwater Reservation and other Western Shoshone reservations are located near the test site. Tribal members say nuclear tests conducted there have caused cancers and deaths of their family and friends. They are worried the "Divine Strake" blast will stir up radioactive fallout left from those tests.

Western Shoshone tribal members have filed suit to stop the Divine Strake. The Pentagon has delayed the blast but politicians in Nevada and Utah are concerned that it will not be safe.
