Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe debates wind project

The Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts will make a final decision next month on a wind power project.

The tribe is debating whether to build a 150-foot meteorological tower that will collect wind data. The goal is to find out whether a wind turbine could generate sufficient amounts of power.

If the tower is approved, the tribe will use a $50,000 grant from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative to conduct the feasibility study.
