Oglala Sioux Tribe keeps track of sex offenders

The Oglala Sioux Tribe is keeping track of more than 40 sex offenders who live on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

The large size and remote nature of the reservation makes it harder to track offenders, who are required to check in once a year. Denise Brings Him Back, who works for the police department, enlists the help of the community by keeping in touch with schools and going on KILI-FM to find out whether offenders have moved or not.

Brings Him Back said additional funding would make it easier to track offenders. She said the tribe needs more staff and street signs to mark the physical location of people on her list.
