Haskell alumni in DC raise funds for college

Alumni of Haskell Indian Nations University are holding a fundraiser in Washington, D.C., to raise money for their school.

The Haskell/D.C. Committee will sell Indian tacos, frybread and drinks at the Washington Seminar Center near the U.S. Capitol. A raffle will be held and some short movies will be presented at the event.

Haskell is dealing with a budget shortfall of more than $1 million. Federal funding for the school has not kept up with inflation and other cost increases.

The sale takes place from 11am to 4pm at the Washington Seminar Center, 201 4th Street SE For more information, contact Dan Davis at202-247-5926 or via e-mail at danners49@hotmail.com.
