Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe reports steady growth

The Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe of Washington has seen its assets more than double in the last five years.

The tribe's cash, capital and investments totaled $49 million as of 2005. In 2001, the tribe's assets were $21 million.

The growth is due to the tribe's casino and the addition of new services like an elders' center, a community services building, a high-speed Internet and a library. The tribe is now one of the largest employers in North Kitsap.
