Library of Congress to publish Zuni language works


The Library of Congress will be publishing a collection of materials that have been used to preserve and pass on the Zuni language.

The collection is the work of linguist Curtis Cook. He worked with the Zuni Tribe of New Mexico for 15 years, recording stories, developing an alphabet, translating works and creating teaching materials.

His efforts earned praised among the tribe. The Zuni language is now being used on street signs and the tribe is teaching the language to a new generation.
