Indian professor from Bolivia barred entry into U.S.

An Aymara man from Bolivia isn't being allowed to return to the United States to start a professorship at the University of Nebraska.

Last year, Waskar Ari went back home after completing his doctorate at Georgetown University. But his visa application has been delayed for political reasons, free speech and academic advocates say.

Ari, an historian, said he doesn't know why he is not being allowed to enter the U.S. In Bolivia, he is considered pro-American because he has advocated for improved relations between the two countries.
